About
About the Public Servant Project
The People Lab, based at the Harvard Kennedy School, launched the Public Servant Project to create a hub for research and policy insights that tells the story of public servants in the United States and shares cutting-edge evidence on how to invest in a strong government workforce.
Driven by a commitment to supporting public servants, the Project is collecting trend data from the public with Perceptions of Public Servants, surveying state and local public servants nationwide through Public Servant Pulse, and building out a future hub for research and evidence on What Works in recruiting, retaining, and supporting government workers.

About the Researchers
The People Lab aims to empower the public sector by producing cutting-edge research on the people of government and the communities they are called to serve. Using evidence from public management and insights from behavioral science, we study, design, and test strategies that can solve urgent public sector challenges in three core areas: strengthening the government workforce, improving resident-government interactions, and reimagining evidence-based policy making.
